...We're WMC (Walking Mums Club)

Walking Mums Club began with a small group of mums meeting in a park during the pandemic and has grown into a Manchester wide community supporting thousands of parents.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief. No mum should feel alone.

Our Founder, Becca

I started Walking Mums Club during maternity leave with my first baby. It was the height of the pandemic and I had no local support network. Like many new mums, I felt lonely, overwhelmed and in need of connection and routine.

I began meeting a few mums in the park for gentle walks. Those early walks were simple but powerful. Fresh air. Honest conversations. Mums supporting mums.

Word spread, more parents joined and what started as something I needed grew into a community that now supports families across the city. I am incredibly proud of what Walking Mums Club has become.

Why We Exist

Motherhood can be joyful and deeply challenging at the same time. Many mums experience isolation, mental health challenges and physical recovery without enough support.

Walking Mums Club exists to provide a place where mums feel seen, supported and part of something. We create spaces where mums can show up exactly as they are and build confidence, connection and routine during early parenthood.

How We Support Mums

Our Core Values

We exist to reduce isolation and improve maternal mental and physical wellbeing during pregnancy, maternity leave and early parenthood. Everything we do is designed to help mums feel more connected, confident and supported.

Support should not depend on income, confidence or postcode. Our walks are free, baby friendly and delivered in neighbourhoods across Manchester, removing barriers for mums who may otherwise miss out.

Our programmes are led by local mums who understand the realities of early motherhood. This lived experience builds trust, safety and engagement, particularly for parents who may not access traditional services.

We believe in early intervention through simple, preventative action. A weekly walk provides gentle movement, routine and peer support, helping prevent issues escalating and reducing pressure on health and family services.
